Vita Mix Vita Prep 1005 / 3 Hp Blender

This Blender Is Our ALL-TIME Favorite (VIDEO)

Vita Mix Corporation keeps telling consumers that the Vita Mix 5200 blender is equally strong as the 3 hp blender and that the 3 hp motor is installed in the VP 1005 to keep it cooler because of its expected commercial use... so they say. Look at the Vita Mix commercial blender page and read for yourself what Vita Mix says about the awesomeness of the 3 hp Vita Mix blender blending abilities. Vita Mix calls it a 3 + peak hp blender: " The Vita-Prep 3 has more power to handle the thickest, toughest ingredients! Grind meats for pâte or chop tough vegetables for authentic Mexican salsa without overheating!"

So, what do you call that? You are buying a workhorse for $ 495 including Shipping 48 USA States.

The Vita Mix 5200 comes with a 2 hp motor. It blends just fine, don't get us wrong, but the 3 hp blender, the Vita Mix Vita Prep 1005 / 3 has been engineered for the Nursing Homes where our elderly folks live. By the time you buy the Vita Mix 5200 2 hp Blender, add about $5 to $10, and the Vita Mix Vita Prep 3 hp blender is yours.

Chewing problems... get it? Although not all of us have chewing problems, and we should really chew each bite about 20 times, it is just not going to happen anymore in this busy world. We don't even take time to go the .... you know where.

The most important feature: If you want to blend, emulsify, micronize, whatever the term, Chia Seeds, Strawberry Nuts, Raspberry Seeds, Avocado Seeds... you need the 3 hp Blender. The better ones in the 3 hp blender class are the Vita Mix Vita Prep 1005/3, Waring MX1050XT or Waring MX1200XT, or the Blendtec HP3A. The Blendtec HP3A however is not quite as strong as this Vita Mix commercial 3 hp blender

The best deal, you get for the power, money-wise, is...
$495 inch S&H USA 48

... the HP3A Blendtec 3 hp blender for over $ 140 less than the Vita Mix Vita Prep 3 / 1005 blender.

Between the Blendtec and the Vita Mix 3 hp blenders is also a sturdiness difference and the Vita Mix blenders are easier to use, with the tamper, the manual on/off switch, turning knob for variable speed and the override fast/pulse switch. The Waring MX1050XT runs in the price range along with the HP3A, and that has a 3.5 hp motor. The Waring 3.5 hp MX1200XT blender is about $ 35 below the Vita Mix 3 hp blender.

But don't go just about hp strength alone. We have seen and tested claimed-3-hp blenders that performed as good as a 2 hp blender (OMNI for example). A 2 hp blender is really a good start, and it does essentially what the 3 hp blender does, with however a difference in time that it takes to blend. And because the 3 hp blender has more torque, it can handle the tiny seeds that the 2 hp cannot blend as easily. If you have ulcerative colitis or something like that, you may feel sensitive to tiny seeds in your digestive system. If money is no issue to you, the Blendtec 3.5 hp 20 AMP Smoother between $800 to $ 1000 can help you there. Are you now confused? Sorry about that. Feel free to call us to help you finalize your decision. Remember, all of these blenders are great and of good quality. The best blender for YOU, does not have to cost the most. Know what you are buying and understand what to expect.

Bottom line: Image you already bought your blender... Ask yourself if you would wish you would have bought a 2 hp blender over your 3 hp blender choice. Or ask yourself if you should have bought the 3 hp blender over your 2 hp blender choice... I think it really does come down to money. Do you have the money for a 3 HP Vita Mix? If not, go with the 3 hp Blendtec. If that is too much, go with the 2 hp Vita Mix 4500 Turbo Blender... our suggestions...

Our healthy lifestyle begins with good exercise and fresh - raw foods such as green vegetables (and other colors), fruits, and seeds, and grains. Protein is also on the list of must-haves. But we are not going to advise you about your food pyramid; you should already be beyond that. We are advising you about your best blender choice. "In our opinion, the Vita Prep 3 is the best choice".

Here is why:

The 3 hp motor cranks through just about every possible ingredient, supported by its torque-12.5 AMPs and 1500 Watts. Two carriages are moving up on a hill. One carriage has 2 horses and the other one has 3 horses. Both have the same load and both get there at the same time. Speed is not an issue anymore. The 2 hp blender has already been proven fast enough. It just exhausts faster and heats up faster and wears out faster and gives in to crank requirements faster. It really takes about twice as long to make a good smoothie in the Vita Mix 5200 2 hp blender in comparison to the 3 hp Vita Mix Vita Prep 3.

Raspberry and Strawberry seeds, even the infamous Avocado Seeds or others ... are blending smooth in about 20 + seconds while the 2 hp Vita Mix blender takes about 40+ seconds. This means you need less ice, less power, and you have more time to do other things. But that is not all: The Vita Prep 3 hp Blender has more longevity and durability than the 2 hp blenders from Vita Mix.

Why is the Vita Mix Vita Prep 3 our favorite choice over the Vita Mix 5200, Blendtec HP3A and Total Blender, and Blendtec EZ Blender?

You got it, yes the Blendtec Blenders are also about 3 hp blenders....little less powerful than the Vita Mix 3 hp Vita Prep 1005. The HP3A, for example is a fine blender. It costs also about 100$ less than the Vita Mix Vita Prep 3; and the justification is a lighter-weight blender - price engineered. While the Vita Mix Vita Prep 3 blender is equipped with simplicity for its simple operation, an on/off switch, a variable speed turning-knob, and an override - fast / variable speed switch, the HP3A or Total Blender from Blendtec feature 6 to 25 different blending programming cycles. Some people like it, others want an easy smoothie without much learning curve and little more power. So, if the money is not the reason for holding back, we suggest, you don't hold it back. Get the Vita Prep 3.  It will handle all your soups, pate's, purees, even easily the avocado seed blending (whatever purpose that may have), and it is a commercial blender. You will like it!

If money is tight, get the 3 hp Blendtec HP3A for much less than $ 399 (MAP). MAP means that the factory does not allow advertising for less than that MAP pricing. It also means that we are really selling it for less... And if you want more to think about it, consider the 3.5 hp blenders, but carefully. There is quite a bit of information for you to consider. So you can see, these High Performance Blenders are all great, with a little different view from different sides. Call us if you have some more questions.
