2 HP Blenders

A 2 hp blender is really not a High Performance Blender. While we have the 2 hp category available, the blenders listed here, are really 3 hp blenders and 3.5 hp blenders. We used to have 2 hp blenders Vitamix 5200. In our opinion it is better to get the Vita Mix Vita Prep 2 or the Vita Mix 4500 Turbo Blender. They cost less and perform equally well, if not better in respect to over-heating.

We formulated the term "High Performance Blenders" into a Classification. The classification "High Performance Blenders" is used way too lightly by far too many want-to-be's high performance blender sales entities and manufacturer. A 1 hp blender, or a 2 hp blender should not be considered a high performance blender. But they are at times.

For Example, the Blendtec Connoisseur, Blendtec HP3A Blender, Total Blender, and even the Vita Mix Vita Prep 3 hp blenders have a 3 hp motor. But these blenders also are throttled down by a 13 AMP 1500 Watts power supply. Their ceiling of its applicable speed is that of a 2 hp blender. But when they drive their blades, it goes stronger with more force and torque than a 2 hp blender. So, although the Connoisseur and the Blendtec 13 and 15 amp blenders are listed below, the only true 2 hp high performance blenders are the Vita Mix Vita Prep 2 and Vita Mix 4500 Turbo Blender. The others should go to the 3 hp blender group. Isn't that a good comparison and review? We hope this makes sense. Write us if it does not.

Why a 2 HP Blender and not a 3 hp blender or even a 3.5 hp blender?

The 2 HP Blender is for consumers that have the time to blend about 50 % to double the time longer. They rather blend longer than spending more money. A 2 hp blender can do the same as a 3 hp blender can do, but it takes little longer and the chance or risk for over-heating might be slightly higher. But in the case of the 15 AMP Smoother by Blendtec, it has more power and AMPs and therefore is a better, yet more costly choice. Amps does not equal hp strength, but it equals torque. A 3.5 hp motor with the equal torque as a 2 hp motor is still stronger and better.

Bottom line, a 2 hp blender Should Not be a HIGH PERFORMANCE BLENDER. A 2 hp blender, such as the Vita Mix 4500 Turbo Blender and the Vita Prep 2 are not a bad start for a beginning vegan or raw foodist. If you want superior smoothie results, please give yourself a chance to a better smoothie-blending experience with the Vita Mix Vita Prep 3, a Waring or a Blendtec 3 hp blenders, and even a 3.5 hp blenders, the true HIGH PERFORMANCE BLENDERS.
